YOUNGO is excited to announce the Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) India 2024, a pivotal event crafted by the youth and for the youth, focusing on Climate Action. Our mission is to empower young individuals to actively engage in climate action and decision-making processes. This event is organized under the YOUNGO banner, the official youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and it emphasizes local climate issues with a national perspective.

Our application process is straightforward, as we want to get to know you better! Whether you are new to the environmental space or have prior experience, we strongly encourage you to apply.

 Event Details:
Official Hosts: Enact Earth Foundation, Bring Back Green Foundation, Sattvic Soul Foundation, Seepad Foundation.

• Age Criteria: 18 to 35 years
• Event Dates: August 15-18, 2024
• Venue: Mysore, India
• Format: In-person
• Last Date for Submission: June 10, 2024

Over the course of four days, we will gather organizations from across India to voice their expectations and commitments to climate policies and local actions, and to interact with changemakers from all over the country. While our primary language of facilitation will be English, we will work to have interpreters available to support non-English speaking delegates.

Inclusivity and Accessibility
We are dedicated to ensuring barrier-free accessibility and promoting participation from differently-abled individuals, vulnerable communities, queer communities, and indigenous people who are interested in or working on addressing the climate crisis.

Application Process
To ensure fairness and inclusivity, your application will be reviewed without any identifying information. Our selection team will only see your answers, not your personal details. We might contact you if we need more information. Please note that applying does not guarantee you a spot at LCOY. Copying answers from the web will result in disqualification. While tools like ChatGPT can help improve language, we strongly advise against using them to generate your answers.
